Runway Royal
She says she sometimes thinks she was bom in high heels. Certainly, few women have logged as many miles in them as the Brazilian model called Dalma. Four times a year, in as many as sixty fashion shows a season, she rules the international runways with a cool, wavy walk that turns cloth into water. In a profession of mini-lifespans, Dalma still walks supreme after nearly a decade. (She paused to pick up a special award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America in 1986.) On a good day, she says, "I feel I have the whole collection for myself. I'm very vain. You have to be in this business."
