Leguizamo "had a blast" exploring actor Michael Pena's hometown neighborhood. "Seeing a local boy come back to his old stomping ground gave me secondhand nostalgia. We hit up Taquerias Atotonilco and had barbecue with his family like he used to back in the day."

GALA HISPANIC THEATRE

Washington, DC

Hugo and Rebecca Read Medrano founded the theater almost 50 years ago. Along with hosting professional performances, they run a bilingual youth education program. "A lot of these kids share the same struggles, like getting bullied, and here they find a community where they can shine."

LA TROPIKITCHEN

New York

Prompted by the pandemic, "Stephanie Bonnin [below] opened a restaurant in her apartment, cooking in her kitchen and using fresh greens grown on her deck," says Leguizamo. "She made the most delicious Colombian food I've ever had."
