Director and writer Peter Jackson works from this desk in his Wellington, New Zealand, home, which he shares with longtime writing partner and wife Fran Walsh. His WingNut Films production offices are located on an adjacent compound. Jackson, a three-time Academy Award winner, gained critical acclaim for Heavenly Creatures (1994) and went on to make box-office history with the beloved J. R. R. Tolkien series. The Lord of the Rings, which he made into a film trilogy and which garnered 17 gold statuettes in all. His latest project, The Lovely Bones, will premiere at the end of the year, and he is currently at work on Tmtin, with Steven Spielberg, while also producing the Hobbit movies, District 9, and a remake of the W.W. II film The Dam Busters.
