Bella Bellati
When a Rizzoli editor approached Anglo-ltalian contessa and photographer-journalist Nally Bellati over lunch to urite New Italian Design, a luscious compendium of avant-garde trends, she said, "I don't want any long-term projects. Even my magazine writing looks dated to me by the time it's published. " But during dessert she gave in. Now Bellati envisions her book as "a reference everyone will keep in their office. "And does her own Milan home feature such novelties as a chair that changes color ivhen sat on. or an inflatable telephone? ''Oh, no. I work in bed with my dogs and my grandfather's 1925 Olivetti."
