Steeling Home
Since the mid-1980s, Chris Bundy has been helping Manhattan's trend- and crime-conscious downtowners sleep better with his custom-made steel window gates. But a year ago artist Kenny Scharf commissioned the metalsmith to design and build his first steel bed—a hulking four-poster—and since then the two have collaborated on a host of other home furnishings. This winter, Brooklyn-based Bundy opens an interior-design store in L.A., where, judging from his past clientele ("people who like things that are abnormal and have a little money"), he has ample reason to expect good sales.
