BLANC de BLANCS
Once upon a time it was perfectly apropos to look pale and ghostly in the heat of summer. To drift around the veranda in diaphanous dresses, to linger languorously about the gazebo in gauzy gowns. A tan was considered the height of vulgarity— particularly in fiery Latin countries, where chalk-skinned beauties protected their pallor with all manner of mantillas and mysterious veiling, usually in black. Here, however, we are wedded to the idea of a white June... misty lace dresses and vaporous tulle veils.
Mirage, mirage...
...on the wall...
...who's the fairest of them all?
