A Grim Fairy Tale

Once upon a time there was a beautiful Princess. She had a beautiful face, beautiful hands, and a beautiful walk-in wardrobe wherein she kept an endless supply of beautiful ball gowns. But, alas, there were no balls. This made the Princess rather glum. "Who has the balls nowadays?” she would cry to no one in particular as she wandered the drafty corridors of her palace.“ one has balls,” grumped her two Ugly Sisters, Alice and Malice, who had taken to gin to alleviate the boredom. Sometimes they frolicked in the ballroom. Sometimes they frolicked in the gardens. Often they took great delight in dropping an urn on gay Prince Charming's head. But in the end nothing disguised the fact that they were all dressed up with nowhere to go. The reason for all this? The wicked, wicked wishes of Wanda the Witch. For Wanda was wild. Wanda was wacky. A wizened wallflower who wore way-out wigs and whined for a write-up in Women's Wear Daily. “Winsome women who wear Watteau-ish wardrobes in the winter are wearisome,” warbled Wanda. And with that she wiped them all out with a wave of her wattled wand
